Daniel Joseph Seibert, age 65 of Defiance, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 at Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon, Ohio.
He was born on June 18, 1956 to Michael and Monica (Peiffer) Seibert in Hicksville, Ohio. Dan was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. He worked for several years at GT Technologies. Dan loved Green Magazine and tractors, especially John Deere. He enjoyed learning about local history, and hanging out with his children and grandson. His favorite musician was Carl Perkins and his favorite comedy team was Laurel and Hardy. Dan was a fan of the Detroit Lions and Tigers. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Daniel is survived by his daughters, Claudia (Tyler) Burkholder of Wauseon, OH, and Cecilia (Abdelai En-Nasry) Seibert of Defiance, his grandson, Barrett Burkholder, his siblings; Ann (Bob) Hindley of Montana, Janet (Mike) Plunkett of Columbus, OH, Patricia (John) Lonsdale of Wisconsin, Lisa (Jim) Found of Cincinnati, OH, Ellen (Bill) Wolfrum of Edgerton, OH, and Sheila (Mark) Patton of Bowling Green, OH, and sister-in-law, Marsha Seibert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Gerald Seibert.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. with a Rosary Service at 7:30 pm. Due to CDC guidelines, if you are not fully vaccinated a mask is required to enter the funeral home, and our lounge area will remain closed. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Michael's Ridge Catholic Church, with Fr. Melwyn Dsousa officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Michaels Ridge Catholic Cemetery.
