Dane Scott Hahn, age 31 of Defiance, passed away on Saturday October 25, 2025.
Dane was born on January 31, 1994 to Crystal Retcher and Scott A. Hahn in Defiance, Ohio. Dane was a sweet and beautiful baby...he was an ornery little boy. When he was about three years old he had a pair of toy handcuffs. He said his sister was being mean so he handcuffed her to a tree in the front yard. I had to pat his pockets to find the key to uncuff his sister...LOL. Another time was when he tied a rubber band around the kitchen sink sprayer so when his sister turned on the water she would get sprayed!
Later in high school he wanted to sign up for the military and he did. Dane served 8 1/2 years in the U.S. Army Reserve with one deployment. During his military years he had two beautiful children, Broly and Aubree Hahn who Dane loved so very much. They filled his heart and he filled their hearts as well.
Dane, I love you so very much as you are loved by many; family, your children, friends, military family, church family, the list goes on. Now you rest in the arms of Jesus with so much love and peace.
Dane is survived by his mother, Crystal Retcher of Defiance, and his sister Brytni Retcher of NC, his son Broly Hahn and daughter Aubree Hahn both of Indiana, grandparents Darlene Whitaker and Mike and Marsha Miller, two nephews, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Scott A. Hahn, and his grandparents, James Whitaker, Terry Retcher, and Charles Hahn.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025 at 10:00 am at Riverside Cemetery with Military Honors. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
