Dale Eugene Dicke

Dale Eugene Dicke, age 93 of Defiance, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Glenn Park of Defiance.  
  
He was born in New Bremen, Ohio on May 10, 1929 to the late Edwin and Alice (Niemeyer) Dicke. Dale was a graduate of St. Mary High School. He was a combat veteran of the Korean War, where he was awarded a Bronze Star. On April 30, 1951 he married Kathryn (Springer) Dicke who preceded him in death on April 27, 2020.

Dale was a faithful and active member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and Defiance VFW #3360. He owned and operated his own business, Defiance Oil for 30 years. He will be remembered by many for his kind and compassionate nature and his great business sense. He was a NASCAR and Indy Car fan and enjoyed attending car shows. Dale loved traveling with Katie and spending time with his family. He was loved and respected by his family and many good friends. 
  
Dale will be sadly missed by his sons; Dr.Jeffrey (Jan) Dicke of St. Louis, MO, Terry (Pat) Dicke of Hutchinson Island, FL, and Dr. Tom (Crystal) Dicke of Springfield, MO, his daughters, Julie Dicke of Cincinnati, OH, and Suzanne (Dale) Omori of Rocky River, OH, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 
  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn, five brothers, one sister, and his grandson, Christian Dicke. 
  
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Defiance. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 am at the church, with Fr. David Cirata officiating.
