Clifton G. Wolf

Clifton G. Wolf, age 90 of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Hospice of NW Ohio in Perrysburg, Ohio.  
  
He was born on September 12, 1933 to Richard and Florence (Brecth) Wolf in Highland Township, Ohio. Clifton was a 1951 graduate of Holgate High School. On August 10, 1952, he married Helen Yackee, who preceded him in death on February 14, 2006.

Clifton was a dedicated member of Emanuel Church in New Bavaria and was a church council member, past president of church council, an Elder, Deacon and Trustee. He retired from the  Highland Township Volunteer Fire Department after 20 years of service. Clifton worked at Dinner Bell Foods in Defiance for 37 years, and at Sauder Woodworking in Archbold for 7 years until his retirement. He treasured his time spent with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
  
Clifton is survived by his daughters; Brenda (Gary) Dunlap of Coldwater, MI and Cathy (Joe) Froelich of Perrysburg, OH, four grandchildren; John (Julie) Dunlap of Defiance, Nick (Leslie) Froelich of Avon Lake, OH, Nathan (Kerry) Froelich of Sunbury, OH, and Jacob (Emily) Froelich of Johnstown, OH, and seven great-grandchildren; Tyler (Amanda) Dunlap of Defiance, Olivia Dunlap of Murfreesboro, TN, Alec Dunlap of Oviedo, FL, Elizabeth, Maggie, Grace and Maddie Froelich. 
  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Helen Wolf, his sister, Faye Ehrman, his brother Gale V. Wolf, grandson Philip Dunlap, and great-granddaughter Hannah Froelich.
  
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon at the funeral home, with  Jeff Brown officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens.
