Charles "Todd" Alan Evans

Charles "Todd" Alan Evans, 76, of Defiance, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on July 23, 2025 at CHP Defiance Area Hospice Center.  
  
He was born on April 29, 1949 to James and Alice (Ladd) Evans in Mishawaka, Indiana. Todd grew up in Oakwood, Ohio where he developed the values and work ethic that shaped his life. He proudly worked at General Motors in Defiance for 43 years, where his hands-on skill and reliability earned the respect of many. Outside of work, Todd had a passion for adventure. He enjoyed traveling, motorcycling, camping, and attending antique car shows. A natural craftsman, he was known for his incredible ability to fix or build just about anything and always seemed to have the perfect tool for any task.

On October 20, 2004 Todd married Karen Humes who preceded him on May 1, 2023.
  
Todd is survived by his children, Michelle "Micki" Evans of Toledo, Ohio and Eric (Christy) Evans of Ocala, Florida; stepchildren Gina (Mark) Watkins of Chillicothe, Ohio, Jennifer Passerini of Delaware, Ohio and Chad (Crystal) Henry of Bryan, Ohio. He was a proud grandfather to Wyatt, Alex, Kayla, Christian, Cody, Rylie, Makenzie, Courtnee, Luke and Gabriella. Todd is also survived by his brother-in-law, Don (Rita) Humes. 
  
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Karen and his brother, Dennis Evans.
  
A graveside service will held on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 12:00 pm at Riverside Cemetery with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
  
Todd's legacy lives on through the memories of countless road trips, stories shared around the campfires and many things he built and fixed for those he loved. Therefore the family asks that in lieu of flowers, you take a ride, fix something, or simply lend a helping hand in Todd's memory.
