Bruce Wayne Miles

Bruce Wayne Miles, 70, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family.
  
He was born July 1, 1954 in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Clystal and Hazel (Dennison) Miles. He married Theresa Phipps on September 24, 2009. 

He was a 1972 graduate of Continental High School. Bruce worked at General Motors in Defiance for 48 years, retiring in 2020. He proudly served with the Highland Township Fire Department for 29 years. He was a member of UAW Local #211 Retirees and Defiance Eagle Aerie #372.

In his spare time he was always working on cars. He was an avid Nascar, Ohio State Buckeye and UK basketball fan. He also enjoyed going to tractor pulls. Bruce would do anything for anyone and loved spending time with his family. 
  
In addition to his wife, Theresa, survivors include two sons, Michael (Kelly) Miles and Joshua (Melissa) Miles and a daughter, Heather (Matthew) Wagner, all of Defiance, OH; four bonus daughters, Heather (Eric) Becker of Paulding, OH, Jennifer (Matthew) Becher of Continental, OH, Amber (Salomon) Aguilar and Autumn (Ruben) Valdez, both of Napoleon, OH; 27 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kim (Shelly) Miles of Blissfield, MI and Jack (Sandy) Miles of Defiance, OH and three sisters, Nina (Dave) Andrews of Liberty Center, OH, Wilma (Ray) Newsome of Oakwood, OH and Crystal Branham of Holgate, OH. 
  
Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister, Karren Miles; and a brother, Owen Miles.
  
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 11:00 am with Pastor Terry Brock officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service. 
     
Burial will take place at Myers Cemetery.
