Brian D. Emerling

Brian Dale Emerling, age 51, of Defiance, passed away suddenly on August 8, 2025 at his residence.
  
He was born on June 25, 1974 to David and Rebecca (Lloyd) Emerling in Defiance, Ohio. He was graduate of Defiance High School and he worked in customer service for Kroger in Defiance for many years. Brian loved to play darts and pool acting as a captain for many dart and pool leagues over the years. He enjoyed playing video games, playing golf and putt-putt with his children and grilling at home. He enjoyed making people laugh and cherished all the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. Brian will be missed by many family members and friends. 
  
Brian is survived by his father, David (Deborah) Emerling of Ruskin, FL; sons, Devin (Claire) Emerling and Landin Emerling both of Defiance; grandson, Everett  Emerling; brother, Chad (Jaci) Emerling of Defiance; sister, Amanda (John) Clellan of Defiance;  former spouse and friend Dawn Emerling of Defiance; step-children, Alex Glowinski and Onja Glowinski both of Defiance; step-grandchildren, Joslin Glowinski, Owen Omlor and Everliey Reed; aunt Debbie (Jack) Starr of Defiance; uncles Frank (Linda) Lloyd and Roger Emerling both of Defiance and Steve (Mary) Emerling of Augusta, MI; great-aunt, Pat Pack of Paulding; cousins, Tom  (Kim) Yant, Teresa (Jeremy) Edmonds, Jack (Bryna) Starr and Diane Lloyd all of Defiance, Justin (Darcy) Yant of Paulding, Stacey (Steve) Havel of Fort Worth, TX, Kelly Emerling of Bluffton, SC, Ericka (Kevin) Hellthaler of Wrightstown, NJ, Kristi (Scott) Alton of Battlecreek, MI and Beverly (Tom) Allen of Richmond, MI and many nieces and nephews.
  
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Emerling; son, Dustin Emerling; grandparents, Joan (Paul) Ullinskey, Oliver (Elsie) Emerling and Melvin Lloyd and an aunt, Sigrid Emerling.
  
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 am with Deacon Mark Homier officiating. Interment will take place a Riverview Memory Gardens.
