Our beloved family matriarch, Bonnie June, peacefully departed her family and friends on the morning of August 23, 2024, in order to join her loving husband of 34 years, Con, who was awaiting her arrival with their Lord and Savior. Bonnie leaves behind an irreplaceable legacy to so many who were blessed to know her as a sister, a mother, Grams and Gigi. She will be fondly remembered for living life on her terms, devoted to family and friends and the lord, in her most favorite surroundings. Her Columbus Avenue trailer, which was her castle, was where she resided until she found her bonus family at Eden Place in Defiance. While at Eden Place she enjoyed time with her many friends during happy hour and playing bingo and crossword. Bonnie, who never met a stranger, made anyone and everyone she came in contact with feel welcomed and loved.
Bonnie was born in Defiance on May 15, 1932, to Fredrick and D’Nell Morris. Bonnie married Eugene McGill in 1952, also of Defiance and they were blessed with children Kenneth and Kim. On December 2, 1978 Bonnie married Conception Gomez of Defiance. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Con, Eugene McGill and her brother Kenneth Morris. She is survived by her children Kenneth (Sandy) McGill of Westerville Ohio, Kim (Jerry) Feeney of Southern Pines, N.C., and her sister Marilyn (Toot) Guilliam of Defiance. Also left to carry on the memory of Bonnie are grandchildren Jami (Scott) Carter; Emily (Jim) Miles; Mallory (Dave) Brantley; Nathaniel (Mallory) McGill; Brennan (Stephanie) McGill and Janelle McGill along with her adoring eleven great-grandchildren. Additionally, Bonnie also received the love and support of her stepchildren Connie (Francisco) Delbosque, Robert Gomez and Anthony Gomez.
Services will be held at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance, Ohio, on Monday, September 16. Friends and all those touched by Bonnie are invited to pay their respects and share memories from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Following visitation, a prayer service will immediately ensue. In lieu of flowers the family requests that any donations be made in Bonnie’s name to the St. John Lutheran Church (Defiance, Ohio) or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
