Bonnie L. Chase, age 74 of Defiance, passed away early Friday morning, March 20, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her family, in Defiance.
She was born on October 19, 1945 to the late Douglas and Wilma (Spencer) Inkster in Jackson, Michigan. On May 9, 2010 she married Guilford Chase, who resides in Defiance.
Bonnie was a faithful member of Defiance Christian Church, and enjoyed organizing funeral dinners for Defiance Christian Church and Ney Church of God. She especially enjoyed her bible study groups and the extended church family. She was a lifetime member of AmVets #1991. Bonnie worked for General Motors until her retirement in 2006. She enjoyed traveling, and has been to 45 states. One of her most precious trips was with her husband (and their dog Sasha) traveling across the country on their tryke for 49 days. Bonnie loved to have porch picnics with her grand kids, cooking, trying new crafts, having weekly football chats, Go Spartans!! and she especially loved family reunions. Her motto was always "the more the merrier".
Bonnie will be sadly missed by her husband, Guilford Chase of Defiance, son, Thomas (Christine) Hattemer of New Bavaria, OH, daughters, Veronica Hattemer of Monroe, MI, Sonya (John) Eckoff of Topeka, KS, and Stephanie (Shawn) Ramey of Ney, OH, her stepdaughter, Tracey Anne (David) Carroll of Houston, TX, and her dog, Inkster. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, her brother, Douglas (Maria) Inkster of Albuquerque, NM, and her sister, Star Barbarigos of Aurora, CO.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Dustin and Sydnie.
The family has chosen to postpone services at this time due to recommendations and guidelines with the Coronavirus Pandemic.
