Beth A. (Mumy) Patterson

Beth A. Patterson, 78, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Mercy Defiance Hospital.   
  
She was born on March 27, 1946 to Burel and Wilma (Reed) Mumy in Paulding, Ohio. On May 31, 1969 she married Michael A. Patterson, who survives. 

Beth was the co-owner of Mercury Cleaners in Defiance and enjoyed working over 30 years with her husband Mike until her retirement in 2014. She enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, going to Hamilton Lake and spending time with her family. Beth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and many good friends.
  
Beth is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Mike Patterson of Defiance, OH, and two sons, Brad Patterson of Defiance and Kevin (Amy Rosebrock) Patterson of Napoleon. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Stefan Patterson of Hicksville and Lindsay Patterson of Columbus, three great-grandchildren, and her sister, Frances Bergeon of Defiance. 
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Richard Mumy.
  
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home South, Lawson/Roessner Chapel (1753 S. Clinton Street) in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Beth will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
