Beatrice A. (Arend) Grossheim

Beatrice A. Grossheim, age 92 of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.   
  
She was born on August 6, 1932 to the late Cyril and Zita (McCarthy) Arend in Paulding County, Ohio. She was a 1946 graduate of St. John Catholic Grade School, and graduated from Defiance High School in 1950. In 1961 she married Donald Shinners who passed away in 1973. She married Harold Grossheim in 1977, and he preceded her in death in 2013. 
  
Beatrice was a faithful member of St. John Catholic Church. She worked for several years as an office clerk at Defiance Hospital. She enjoyed crocheting and playing cards with her family.
  
Beatrice is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Shinners, second husband, Harold Grossheim, her brothers, Meldan, Carl, Donald, and Patrick Arend, and sisters, Dorothy Shaffer and Clarice Shininger.
 
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with Deacon Nick Varano officiating.
