Arthur L. Miller

Arthur L. Miller, age 87 of Defiance, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.  
  
He was born on April 15, 1935 to the late Virgil and Ruby Miller in Paulding County, Ohio. On December 31, 1955 he married Rosalee (Barnhart) Miller, who preceded him in death in 2016.
  
Arthur proudly served the City of Defiance as a Police Officer for 38 years until his retirement, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He drove a school bus for Defiance City Schools for over 35 years. In his leisure time he enjoyed camping, gardening and working in the yard. Arthur was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather, and will be sadly missed by his family, colleagues and friends.
  
Arthur is survived by his daughter, Lori Miller of Napoleon, OH, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 
  
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Rosalee, his son, Rickie Miller, two brothers, Leonard and Wayne Miller, and his great-granddaughter.
  
There will be no visitation. A private graveside service for his family will be held at a later date. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
