Alpha H. "Junior" Kiessling Jr.

Alpha H. "Junior" Kiessling Jr., age 80 of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.   
  
He was born in Defiance, Ohio on June 3, 1943 to the late Violet (Ankney) and Alpha Kiessling Sr. On April 25, 1964 he married Roberta "Bobbye" Scott who survives. 
  
Junior was a life member of Defiance Moose Lodge #2094. He worked in construction as a Cement Mason for Local  #886 in Toledo for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, fishing and working on his car. He was a jack of all trades and loved to fix things and work in the garage. Junior was on a bowling league for 30 years. He was very fun-loving and always willing to volunteer for projects and lend a hand to others in need of help. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
  
Junior is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Bobbye Kiessling of Defiance, his children; Robert (Lana) Kiessling, Scott (Nancy) Kiessling, Corey Kiessling, Keri (Christopher) Kaiser, all of Defiance, and Miranda (Dustin) Schriber of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, his sisters, Patricia Church of Angola, IN and Sandra (Larry) Colgan of Defiance, and his brothers, Rick Kiessling of Defiance and David (Teresa) Kiessling of Napoleon. 
  
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his twin children, Stacy and Tracy Kiessling.
  
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the funeral home, with Crystal Church-Stavitzke officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
