Alberto Gonzales

Alberto Gonzales departed this earthly life on March 1st 2022 due to natural causes. Alberto was born on July 26th 1940 to Ester Trevino and Dad Benito Trevino Sr. in San Benito, Texas. Alberto was a devoted and loving Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend.

Alberto worked for 32 years at General Motors and retired April 1st 2000. Alberto was known as a dedicated, faithful Christian and servant to the Lord Jesus Christ. He witnessed to many throughout his lifetime and brought them to salvation. He was a passionate and talented musician. Playing the accordion and singing was his favorite pastime. Alberto was kind, generous and loved to make people laugh. No matter what the situation was in life, he would crack a joke and find the humor even at life’s darkest moments. No one could have said it better... “Guess what?.... Jesus loves you, and so do I”.

Alberto leaves his loving wife of 60 years Petra Gonzales, his daughters Sandra (Colin) Fite and Yvonne Gonzales, his granddaughters Erika Hamm, Brittney Zipfel and Adrienne Hamm, great-grandchildren Kylee Zipfel, Jonathan Vannier, Scarlett Vannier and Kevin Albert Hamm, and his siblings Velva Berlanga, Yolanda Chapa, Dalia T. Gonzales, Emma Trevino, Dahlia Gamez and John Gonzales.

Preceding him in death is his mother Ester Trevino, his daughter Debra Gonzales-Fader, his siblings Henry Gonzales, Edward Gonzales, Salvator Gonzales and Benito Trevino Jr. and his grandson Christian Wayne Hamm.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Temple of Praise Assembly of God in Defiance. A funeral service to celebrate his life will follow at 2:00 pm at the church with Pastor Ruben Laguna officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
