(Culler) Adams
April 5, 1934 – May 23, 2013
Zora Adams, 79 of Defiance, died on Thursday, May 23 at her residence and in the company of her husband and son.
Zora was born on April 5 th , 1934 in Defiance, Ohio, to George and Vera (Feeney) Culler. On September 23, 1952, she married Jack Adams in Angola, IN. Zora and Jack live in Defiance and are members of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Jack, Son Bruce (Lisa Callander-Adams) Adams of Worthington, Ohio, Grandchildren; Emily & Samuel Adams, of Worthington, Ohio, Sisters; Marilyn (Jerry) Smith, Pauline (Don) Cromley, & Shirley (Vern) McDougle, all of Defiance, Ohio, Sister in Laws; Marie Culler & Betty (Herman) Gerken, both of Defiance, and many loving nieces, nephews, & friends, and her beloved Poodle & constant companion, Missy.
Zora was preceded in death by her parents, sister; Dorothy Shinaberry, brother; Gerald Culler, and a sister in infancy.
Zora graduated from Defiance High School in 1952. She owned and operated The Christian Book Store in Defiance, Ohio from 1972-2008. For Zora, part of being a devoted Christian woman was being available to give council, comfort, and friendship to patrons or anyone who just needed to talk. She touched many people's lives. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, doting on her grandchildren, sewing, fishing, and miniature Poodles.
Zora Mae was a survivor of juvenile diabetes, being diagnosed at the early age of ten. She had strong faith in God that gave her the willpower to manage a frequently life shortening disease for over 69 years. Donations in Zora's name may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
Visitation for Zora will be on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm, when the Funeral services will begin; at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio, with Rev. Marshal Frey officiating.
Burial will follow at the Ayersville Cemetery.
