Obituary

Windell "Windy"  Coleman, 97, of Defiance, passed away on  Saturday, August 31, 2013 at his residence.

He was born on June 6, 1916 to Woodford "Hap" and Clara (Kern) Coleman in Arthur, OH.   On March 17, 1945 he married Winona (Hahn) and she survives.

Windell was a farmer.  He was supervisor at SK Wayne Hand Tool and also repaired clocks 25 years.  Windell was a US Army veteran and a member of the Defiance American Legion..

He is survived by his wife, Winona, son, Allan (Zettia) Coleman of Defiance, daughter, Lynn (Ken) Maynard of Defiance,  3 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Windell was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 09, 2013, from  12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance, with the memorial service being held immediately followng at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Donald Luhring officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery where the Defiance VFW Post 3360 will accord military honors.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Historic Homes of Defiance, the town clock project or to a charity of the donor's choice..
