William G. Wales, 73 of Defiance passed away Tuesday, June 18th, 2019.

He was born on July 10, 1945 to George and Bertine (Golling) Wales in Mantua, Ohio.  He was preceded in death by his brother James.

He devoted his life to rescuing animals. Whether they were sick or healthy, he took them into his home and provided them with the care that they needed and had saved hundreds.  He proudly served his country as a Specialist in the Army during Vietnam.

Willy is survived by his two daughters, Jessica and Tamara Wales.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his honor to the Fort Defiance Humane Society.

Visitation is from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home on Sunday, June 23, 2019.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home on Monday, June 24, 2019  followed by a military burial with VFW Post 3360 conducting the graveside rite at Riverside Cemetery.
