William "Bill" R. Moore, age 87 of Defiance, passed away at home with his wife by his side on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. He was born in Greenup, Kentucky on June 30, 1938 to James and Julie (Hale) Moore. On September 17, 1955 he married Janet Stapleton who survives. Bill was a member of Defiance Eagles #372, Moose Lodge #2094, and Glass Bottle and Blowers Union. He attended Faith Tabernacle Church and Rock Church. Bill had a very solid work ethic. He worked at Johns Manville for 30 years until his retirement. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, fishing, and being with his family. Bill will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Bill is survived by his loving wife Janet Moore of Defiance, his daughters, Patricia Moore of Defiance and Brenda Encinias of Florida, seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Riverside Cemetery in Defiance. Memorials are suggested to the family to assist the family with expenses.
