William H. Miller, Jr.
William H. Miller, Jr., 90, of Defiance, beloved husband, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, May 6th, 2017.
Bill was born in Rossmore, West Virginia on February 12, 1927, he was the son of the late William H. and Emma Jane (Sartin) Miller.
He was a member of Faith Tabernacle and a graduate of Ft. Wayne Bible College.
He was a World War Two veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Bill married Ethel Miller on April 1, 1946 and she survives. He was retired from a job in maintenance for Defiance County, which he enjoyed. He spent his free time traveling, seeing family out of state and spreading God's word and love, through preaching and music, everywhere he went. He sang gospel songs and played the guitar. He never met a stranger and said he knew he was in the right place.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son David, granddaughter Kim Hall, three brothers: Ralph, Alonzo and Paul Miller, three sisters: Ruby Stone, Dorothy Miller, Thelma Arthur.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Ethel, three daughters Janet (Lawson) Willis of Deltona, FL, Sandra (Troy) Hall of Defiance, Judy (Gary deceased) Bowling of Defiance, a bother Edgar Lee Miller and a sister Sadie Miller. He will forever be loved and missed by his remaining 5 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Services at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10th, with Rev. Isaac Shelton officiating.
Visitation is Wednesday 10-1 p.m. at Lawson-Roessner.
