William Loyal Finkenbiner, 74, of Defiance, passed away on  Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Laurels of Defiance.

He was born on August 21, 1937 to Eber and Katherine (Koontz) Finkenbiner in Bowling Green, OH. He married Lois Ann Strohl on March 16, 1956, and she survives.  Also surviving him are his children, Doug (Rose) Finkenbiner of Defiance, Thomas E. Finkenbiner of Defiance, Jackie March of Defiance, 8 grand kids, 6 great grand kids, a brother, Mike (Diana) Finkenbiner and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, David Finkenbiner, and a granddaughter, Jessica Finkenbiner.

William served in the Army National Guard and was a life member of the Eagles and a member of VFW Post 3360.  He worked for Johns Manville 37 years retiring in 2000.  He enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. .

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 03, 2012 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012,  10:00 am at  the funeral home with Pastor Timothy G Reynolds, officiating.

Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Grand Rapids, OH.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
