Werner Joseph "Bud" Rose, Jr., 83, of Defiance, passed away on Friday December 25, 2015 at his home.
He was born on August 11, 1932 to Werner J. and Edith M. (Rothweiler) Rose, Sr. in Buffalo, New York. Bud graduated from St. Joseph's Collegiate High School, Buffalo, New York and from St. Bonaventure University, New York with a bachelor's of arts degree. He served his country as a captain in the U.S. Army. Bud retired from the Dalton Corporation of Stryker in 2006. He was a patriotic veteran, a gun enthusiast, and an animal lover. Bud never met a stranger, he always enjoyed making new friends.
He is survived by children Karlin (John) Salyer, Kay (Mike) Deveaux, Werner J. (Kimberly) Rose, III, Cathrine (Mark) Noffsinger, Liz Starc,Patricia (Jamie) Davis, Jane (Mike) Woodring, 13 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, special nieces and nephews Anne, Marybeth, Michael, and Robert Rose, his constant companion and pet dog Abby, and former wife, Betty L. Hosler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill Rose, granddaughter Jennifer Deveaux, and son in law Greg Starc.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at 1:30 pm at the Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio, with Deacon Jeff Mayer, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Defiance County Humane Society.
