Waneta O. Baumgartner, 84, of Defiance, passed away on  Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Laurels of Defiance.

She was born on June 28, 1929 to Harvey and Ada (Harvey) Doyle in Paulding, OH.  On September 14, 1947 she married Donald  Baumgartner and he preceded her on March 3, 1989.

Waneta loved to bowl, play bingo and play cards.  She enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Christine) Baumgartner of Morrison, Colorado, daughters, Betty Squires of Pettisville, Sue (Jerry) Becher of Oakwood, grandchildren, Kim (Dave) Schlatter, Dawn (Craig) Johnson, Todd (Jen) Squires, Julie Baumgartner, Matt (Jennifer) Becher, Kurt (Jodi) Becher, great-grandchildren, Tyler (Erica) Schlatter, Amanda (Trevan) Hamm, Sara Schlatter, Codi, Cole, Cade Johnson, Jacy, Brooke Squires, Justin, Noah, Marissa, Evan, Addi Becher and a sister, Vera Willitzer of Defiance.

Waneta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Donald Baumgartner Jr., son-in-law, Ron Squires, brothers, Jim, Carl, Basil, Gene, Rex & Leon Doyle, sisters, Irene Brown, Flo Butler, Marie Bupp, Grace Michael, Doris Chamberlin and Velma Wagner.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at the funeral home with Rev. Herald Yenser officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

The family requests be designated to the Laurel's Activities Department or to a charity of the donor's choice.
