Wanda Sue McCoy, age 63, of Continental, passed away on  Sunday, May 19, 2019, surrounded by her family at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on December 16, 1955 to Benjamin and Martha (Gregory) Blankenship in Springfield, Tennessee. Wanda graduated from Paulding High School, loved playing Bingo and cards, and she loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Ashley. Wanda is survived by her loving children, son, Jeremiah McCoy of Chicago, IL, and daughter, Kelly McCoy of Continental, OH, granddaughter, Ashley DeSote, sisters, Wilma (Ted) Saylor of Ft. Wayne, IN, Diana Serrao of  PA,  former husband and friend, Jerry McCoy of Defiance, and her K-9 companion Dakoda. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Donald  Blankenship, and Jeff Blankenship, and sister, Brenda Blankenship. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Memorial Service will follow at 7:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Wanda's family is hosting a dinner after the service at VFW in Defiance.
