Virginia Rose (Porter) Kern, 90, of Englewood, Florida, passed away suddenly on February 20, 2016.

She was born July 12, 1925, in Delta, Ohio, to the late Ruth (Schubert) and Russell Porter.

She is survived by her children, Carma (Mike) McIntee of Ohio, Barbara (Dwayne) Sawyers of Ohio, Cynthia Kern of Oklahoma, Steven (Kim) Kern of Michigan and Thomas Kern of California; grandchildren, Joy (Patrick) Henry, Jon (Kristin) McIntee, Nicholas (Kiley) Sawyers, Jennifer (Scott) Brown, Krista Stoumbos and Kelli Kern; and great-grandchildren, Dominic Martino, Morrison Sawyers and Alaine, Kaien and Bastian Brown; brothers, Leon and Ronald (Mary) Porter; and sisters, Mary (Wilford) Osborn and Grace Baxter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Kern, who she married April 30, 1949; daughter, Linda Kern; granddaughter, Michelle Martino; great-granddaughter, Gianna Martino; brothers, Robert and Melvin Porter; and sisters, Erma Klingshorn, Donna Smith and Betty Clark.

A memorial service will be held June 11, 2016, at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Defiance, Ohio.
