Virginia Maria Arce, 78, of Dothan passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL.

Mrs. Arce was born January 6, 1936 in Cidra, Puerto Rico and lived there until the age of 18 and moved to Defiance, OH where she lived until 1996 when she moved to Dothan. She married Pedro Juan Arce, Sr. on August 9, 1955. She was a homemaker and loved to cook especially for her family and friends. She was a member of the Bethel Worship Center in Defiance, OH. Mrs. Arce was preceded in death by her parents, Hijinio and Dolores Perez; her husband Pedro Juan Arce, Sr.; a son Lionel Arce; a granddaughter Natalie P. Burns; and brothers, Virgilio Perez, Ismael Perez, and Roberto Perez.

Survivors include her daughters, Ruth (Wayne) Green, Lillian (Samuel) Burns, and Luz (Jesus) Perez; her sons, Pedro Juan Arce, Jr., Eliud Arce, and Gamaliel Arce; her grandchildren, Caleb Arce, Amanda Johnson, Julia Arce, Ashlee Vandemark, Meghan Dockery, Brandon Green, Derek Green, Ryan Arce, Gamali Arce, Samantha Burns and Gabe Peterson; her great grandchildren, Michaela Arce, Machenzie Arce, Mason Arce, Kaleb Seth Arce, Cameron Arce, Trinity Thomas, Norah Vandemark, Allie Vandemark, Kendall Vandemark, Graciella Arce, Danielle Pena, Tre Vasquez, Sam Sinkner and Seth Sinker;  god-children, Javier Pagan, Elizabeth Bruno Sabrino, Nathan Chavez, and Benjamin Silva.

Visitation will be held at Schaffer Funeral Home, in Defiance, Ohio on Saturday May 31, 2014 from 6pm – 8pm, and Sunday June 1 ^st , 2014 from 2pm – 8pm, and one hour prior to the services on Monday June 2 ^nd , 2014.

Funeral services will be held at 11am at the Defiance Family Christian Center with pastor Juan Perez officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Memorials in Virginia's name may be left to the family.
