Vicki J.  Burkhart, 63, of Defiance, passed away on  April 2, 2016 at the Defiance CHP. She was born on February 25, 1953 to Robert and Wilma Jean (Wiseman) Bodenbender in Defiance, OH. Vicki worked as a Newspaper Carrier for the Defiance Crescent News for 27 years and enjoyed bowling. On October 16, 2006 she married Mike Burkhart who lives in Defiance. Vicki is survived by, husband, Mike Burkhart of Defiance, daughter, Christine (Christopher) Strup of Defiance, Amanda (Benjamin) Beck of Defiance, and Heather (Andrew) Carpenter of Malinta, 11 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, brother, Danny Bodenbender of Ringgold, GA, step sons, Jason (Jeni) Burkhart of Sherwood, and Jeremy Burkhart of Indianapolis, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1st husband Randy Zellers in 2002. Visitation will be held  at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio on Tuesday, April 5th from 2-4 and 6-8. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 6th  at 11:00 am  with Rev. James Erven officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens.
