Vera H. Fackler, 87, of Defiance, passed away on  Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Vancrest Care of Holgate, Holgate, OH. She was born on August 7, 1928 to Emery and Roseana (Zachrich) Baker in Defiance, OH. In 1947 she married Herman G. Fackler, who preceded her in death in 2007. Vera was a member of St John Lutheran Church, Defiance, enjoyed crocheting, knitting, baking, reading, and donating various items for church bazaars.. Vera is survived by her sons, Paul Fackler of Mauston, WI, Allan  (Barbara) Fackler of Austin, TX, Kevin (Sandee) Fackler of Defiance, OH, daughters, Valerie (Allan) VanVlerah of Defiance, OH, Carol (Joe) Rose of Jonesville, MI, 13 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, and sisters, Velma (Norman) Rohrs of Holgate, OH, Rosalyn (Elmer) Junge of Napoleon, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Fackler, parents, a daughter, Linda Offutt, and a grandson, Tyson VanVlerah. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015, 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, and one hour prior to services at the church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, 11:00 am at St John Lutheran Church, Defiance, with Rev. Donald L. Luhring, officiating.
