Vandee Lori (Smith) Dennis Vandee Lori (Smith) Dennis, 59 succumbed after a valiant battle to chronic liver disease on February 2, 2016 at the Cleveland Clinic. She had been married to Jim Dennis for 36 years. together they raised two sons; Andrew and Jack. Vandee graduated from Defiance High School and attended the University of Toledo, The Ohio State University and Bowling Green State University. Vandee's career included working in training, sales, administrative, and management positions. She worked with Chief supermarkets in the corporate office for 17 years. She most enjoyed being a wife and mother, spending time with family and friends. She was involved with the Defiance Athletic Boosters and the Defiance Wrestling Boosters Parents group. Vandee had a passion for gardening/landscaping, building lifelong friendships with those around her, and enjoying moments with her granddaughter. She also held close connections with her nieces, nephews, and sons' friends; whom she considered sons and daughters of her own. Vandee was preceded in death by her father "Ted" Smith and step father Donald F. Reid. She is also survived by her husband Jim, son Andrew of San Francisco, California, son Jack (Mackenzy, granddaughter Harper) of Munroe Falls, Ohio, mother Betty Reid of Colfax, NC, sisters Valorey Lawton of Norfolk, VA., Vickie Shields of Westerville, OH,. and Vawn Shroll of Greensboro, NC. A memorial service/celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date.
