Tracy Lynn (Jewell) Perez, age 55 of Defiance, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born on May 11, 1966 to LeRoy and Patricia (Zimmerman) Jewell in Defiance, Ohio. On February 14, 1993 she married John Perez.

Tracy worked at Tom's donuts for several years, and Holiday Lanes Bowling Alley for 13 years. She then became a full time stay at home mother. Oh how beautiful she was at this job. Tracy was a wonderful mother who loved her daughter Mercedes with all her heart. Tracy is survived by her daughter, Mercedes Perez of Defiance, her ex-husband, John Perez of Defiance, her brothers, Todd (Diane) Jewell of Toledo, Ohio and Timothy (Kathy) Jewell of Defiance, her sisters, Terry Jewell and Trenda Jewell, both of Defiance, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, Will and Ethel Lange and Cecil and Ruth Jewell, her aunt, Sharon Doster, and niece, Bobbi Hoffman. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022  from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m also at the funeral home with Pastor Perry Porter officiating. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
