Thomas L. Yant Thomas L. Yant, 57, of Defiance, passed away Thursday, February 9th, 2012 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. Tom was born in Defiance, Ohio on November 23, 1954. He was the son of the late LaVern and Alice (Robinson) Yant who survives him of Defiance. He worked as a Brake Press Operator at Defiance Metal Products and had previously worked at Johns Manville for over 20 years. Tom was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and golfing. He was the proud owner of a 1970 Chevelle 454 and enjoyed old cars. He really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his mother Alice Yant of Defiance, daughter: Teresa (Jeremy) Edmonds of Defiance, sons: Thomas Yant of Defiance, Justin Yant of Defiance, sisters: Dorothy (Mehdi) Kajani of Philadelphia, Pa., Peggy (Robert) Thatcher of Evans, Georgia, Pam Siebenick of Defiance, brother: Robert (Roxann) Yant of Hamilton, Ind. sister in law: Chris Yant of Oakwood. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Austin Yant, Lauren Figley, Brynley Edmonds and Tessa Edmonds. Preceded in death by his father and a brother Richard Yant. Services at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 13th, with Rev. Max Begley officiating. Visitation is Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home.
