Thomas A. Winnow, 59, died in a fire at his home on Monday morning, August 25th, 2008. Tom was born in Defiance on February 27, 1949. Following graduation from Defiance High School in 1967, Tom served an extended tour of duty in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star. He attended Bowling Green State University and worked the past 36 years at General Motors Central Foundry (Power Train) in Defiance.
Tom was an enthusiastic and active member of the Saluki Club of America. Tom was passionate about his family and friends, and his beloved Salukis. He was also a member of the Defiance FOE, VFW and AM VETS.
Tom is preceded in death by his Dad, Ralph. Surviving are his mother . Margaret (Coressel) Winnow, Newbury Park, California; sister, Ann Reineke and husband Steve, Newbury Park, California; nieces, Angie LaMonte and family, Newbury Park, California; and Emily Handy and family, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Visitation is planned for 10:00 Friday Aug. 29, 2008 with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 A:M at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home. Father Tim Kummerer will be officiating. Following the burial at Riverside Cemetery, a luncheon reception will be held at the Eagles Hall in Defiance.
