Thomas C Potts, 73, of Defiance, formerly of E. Liverpool, OH, passed away on  Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the Laurels of Defiance.

He was born on September 1, 1940 to Thomas, Sr. and Betty (Logan) Potts in Wellsville, OH.  On January 14, 1971 he married Carol (McCormick) Potts.

Thomas was a US Army veteran serving in Viet Nam and was a member of VFW Post 3360..

He is survived by his wife, Carol, daughter, Kandace (Rafael) Potts-Salaz of Defiance, sons, Scott Crossen of Mesa, AZ, Mike (Beth) Crossen of Elyria, Tom (Amy) Potts Jr. of Dallas, TX, David (Becky) Potts of St. Cloud, MN, Stevan Potts of Defiance, 13 grandchildren, brother, George Smith of Columbus, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Terry & Jerry Potts and a sister, Donna Pack.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, at Schaffer Funeral  Home, Defiance.  Visitation is from 11:00 a.m.-1:00p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery where military graveside rites will be accorded by VFW Post 3360.
