Theresa S. Thiel, age 53 of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Friday morning, November 12, 2021 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 17, 1967 to James and Nancy (Fockler) Mock in Defiance, Ohio. Theresa worked for several years at SKLD of Defiance. She  enjoyed shopping, bonfires, spending time with her family, and attending all her grandkids events. She was an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins. Theresa will be sadly missed by her mother, Nancy Mock of Defiance, her daughter, Jessica (Nick) Thacker of Defiance, and her sons, Justin Thiel of Napoleon, OH, and Brandon Grunden of Defiance. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Alivia, Aiden, and Aleah Thacker, and her brothers, Steve (Tina) Mock and Jeff (Deb) Mock, all of Defiance. She was preceded in death by her father, James Mock, her grandson, Austin Thacker, and her brother, Mark Mock. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow  at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Due to CDC guidelines, if you are not fully vaccinated, a mask is required to enter the funeral home, and our lounge area will remain closed.
