Theresa Jean Speiser, 70, Defiance, Ohio, died Tuesday , March 22, 2011, at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born July 1, 1940, in Defiance, the daughter of the late Aloysius and Agnes (Hurtt) Coressel. On July 8, 1961, she married Jerry Speiser, who survives. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Ridge, and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia Also surviving are four children, Lucy (Andrew) Winter of Kentucky, Jackie Hogrefe of Missouri, Kate (Robert) Jane of Nebraska and Marvin (Kris) Speiser of Defiance: 10 grandchildren; a great grandchild; and three sisters, Geraldine Gutman, Nina Mays and Jeannie Pessefall, all of Defiance. Preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers and a sister. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Ridge, with Father Robert Kill officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church. Burial will be private. There is no visitation. Handling arrangements is the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home, Defiance. Preferred memorials are to the CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
