Terrance James "Dinger" Haydinger, age 79 of Defiance, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday morning, December 27, 2023 at The Laurels of Defiance. He was born on April 8, 1944 to Richard and Agnes (Haas) Haydinger in Patterson, New Jersey. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. Terry earned his Bachelor's degree from Defiance College and was a member of the Iota Phi Chapter of the TKE Fraternity. He worked in restaurant management  for many years. He enjoyed reading, hanging out at Biggby Coffee, and attending open mic nights. He loved time spent with his family for movie nights at home, watching football, and binge watching his favorite shows. Terry enjoyed vacationing at the shore in New Jersey at Wildwood and Sea Isle City, going to WaWa, eating out, and drinking Maker's Mark. He also enjoyed attending Defiance College Homecomings and various sporting events. Terry is survived by his son, Andrew (Vanessa) Haydinger of West Chester, PA, his daughter, Laurie (Brian) Cox of Defiance, three grandchildren; Brian (Erin) Cox Jr., Taylor Haydinger and Kayla, two great-grandchildren; Allison and Hannah Cox, and his brothers, Richard (Marianne) Haydinger, Jr. of Ocean City, NJ, Fr. Chris Haydinger of Ashland, VA, and Patrick (Linda) Haydinger of Midland Park, NJ. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 in Defiance. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements. Memorials are suggested to Defiance College. Online condolences can be given at www.Schafferfh.com.
