Sylvia E. Stevens Sylvia E. "Susie" Stevens,103, of Florida, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, June 29th, 2016 at Brookview Healthcare Center. She was born in Delta, Ohio on March 2, 1913 . She was the daughter of the late Robert and Lorena (Turpening) Bloomer. On February 17, 1932 she married Harold "Pal" Stevens, who died November 1, 1982. She was a 1931 graduate of Swanton High School . She had worked as secretary at Stevens Auto Service in Defiance, at a box factory and as a doctor's assistant . She was a past president of the Defiance High School Band boosters and active in the EUB church. She also enjoyed flowers, gardening, fishing and eagle watching from her home near the river . As a hobby she enjoyed making fabric covered boxes as gifts. Also,she enjoyed entertaining and having get togethers with her family and friends. She was a lover of people and life. Sylvia will be missed by her daughter Betty Batt of Defiance and her brother Donald Bloomer of Swanton. 5 grandchildren: Jeff (Jean) Batt, Diane (Jim) Billingsley, Craig Stevens, Mark (Margo) Stevens and Mike Stevens. 8 great grandchildren: Stacy (Mike) Bailey, Corey (Nick) Batt, Shaun (Kelli) Billingsley, Chad (Tiffany) Billingsley, Olivia Stevens , Skylar, Zachary, and Ava Stevens. 6 great great grandchildren: Logan, Kayla, Bryce and Brock Bailey, Gavin and Gianna Billingsley. Preceded in death by her son Phillip Stevens, brother Virgil Bloomer, sisters: Meridith Smith, Roseabelle Stevens, Roberta VanDyke and Eva Green. Services at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 2nd, with Rev. Don Litchfield and Deacon Mark Homier officiating. Visitation is Saturday 9-11 a.m. at Lawson-Roessner.
