Sylvia A. Garcia, age 64 of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Certus Healthcare Center in Defiance, Ohio. She was born on November 10, 1957 to the late David and Rita (Rodriguez) Ordaz in Defiance, Ohio.  Sylvia was a wonderful sister, mother and grandmother, and she loved spending time with her family and caring for her grandchildren. Sylvia will be sadly missed by her daughters, Annmarie Garcia and Natalie A. Garcia, both of Defiance, her son, Solomon Garcia of Defiance, seven grandchildren, her brother, Mark (Theresa) Ordaz of Iowa, and her sisters, Diana Velez of Defiance and Alma Jean Rodriguez-Rivera of Washington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Garcia Jr., her brothers, David and Ricky Ordaz, and her sisters, Annette Quintero and Susie Barajas. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 11, 2022 at the funeral home, with Rev. Hector Velez officiating.
