Stella Jean Ellis, age 71 of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. She was born on May 2, 1951 to the late Glenn and Dallas (Hale) Wright in Jewell Ridge, Virginia. Stella enjoyed watching horror films, and was very talented with her cross stitch and needlepoint projects. She was a very loving mother and grandmother, and will be sadly missed by her family. Stella is survived by her children; Shawn Crapo of Nashville, IN, and Ryan Crapo of Clinton, IN, her grandchildren' Damon Crapo, Cameron Watson, Elijah Fenner, and Lily Fenner, and her great-grandson, Layton Black. She also leaves behind her siblings; Glenda (Kevin) Hinkle of Sherwood, OH, Oislee (Ted) Holifield of Defiance, Edward (Sandy) Wright of Montpelier, OH, Rick Wright of Texas, Michael (Julie) Wright of Edgerton, OH, and Carrie (Barry) Adams of Indiana. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Ronald Crapo, her brother, Jack Wright, and her sisters, Nancy Neace and Patricia Wright.

There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11:00 am at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Memorials are suggested to Meals On Wheels, or All Caring Home Nursing. Online condolences can be given at www.Schafferfh.com.
