Stella P. Carter, 78, of Paulding, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born on March 15, 1937 to James and Leavada (Vore) Hamilton in Jay County, Indiana. On January 19, 1953 she married Myles Carter, who lives in Paulding, Ohio. Stella was a lifelong avid bowler. She loved to crochet, had many collections, and was the family historian.
Stella is survived by her loving spouse of 62 years, husband, Myles Carter of Paulding, sons, Jesse (Deb) Carter of Bryan, and Mark (Brenda) Carter of Merry Lake, Michigan, daughters, Ronda (Rich) Yates of Paulding, and Carla Lambert of Cloverdale, 12 Grandchildren, 25 Great-grandchildren, and 1 Great-great-grandchild, sisters, Elberta Ice of Alexandria, Indiana, and Lorene Deering of Virginia, and Stella's beloved Dachshund, BB.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Leavada Hamilton, son, Chris Carter, step father, Omer Webb, son-in-law, Troy Lambert, sister, Dollie Banter, stepbrother, Arthur Webb, great-grandsons, Alec Fisher, Gage Kaiser, and Braeden White.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, August 3, 2015, at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Max Begley officiating. Burial will follow at Ayersville Cemetery.
