Obituary

Sis Deitrick Helen "Sis" Deitrick, 83, of Defiance, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, March 13th, 2013 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. Sis was born in Defiance, on September 6, 1929, the daughter of the late Robert "Bob" and Catherine "Kate" (English) Woodward. Sis is survived by a daughter Jane Druhot, a son James (Jimmy D) Deitrick, grandsons Benjamin Druhot, Ryan Druhot (Amanda), her precious great granddaughter Lillyanna Druhot and a sister Mary Lee York. Sis was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was employed by Johns Manville for 37 years retiring in 1994. She was an active bowler and secretary of the Defiance Women's Bowling Association. Since 1978 her favorite pastime was traveling to Toledo for the Mud Hens games. She and Jimmy were two of their biggest fans. Sis was the secretary of the Mud Hens Boosters for several years. She also enjoyed taking Jimmy to the Defiance College boys and girls basketball games and Defiance High School baseball games. Visitation will be Sunday 2-8 p.m. at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 18, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Suggested memorials may be made to Good Samaritan School, DASH or Hospice. Condolences to the family may be shared at www.defiancefuneralhome.com.
