Shirley Ann Conroy, 81, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Vancrest Healthcare Center in Holgate, Ohio. She was born on March 23, 1934 to Julius and Iva (Colwell) Pracht in Defiance, Ohio. In 1961 she married William V. "Jug" Conroy, who proceeded her in death in 1991. Shirley is survived by her daughters, Lori (Blane) Olinghouse of Defiance, and Cathy Comden of Hamilton, Indiana, son, William (Michelle) Conroy of Deshler, Grandchildren, Ashley (Jonny) Busacca, Brittney Comden, Kimberly Comden, Jessica (Travis) Fry, and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Iva Pracht, husband, William Conroy, and grandson, Blane Olinghouse. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at The Gathering Place, 602 Clinton Street, Defiance, with Pastor Steve Buttermore officiating. A dinner will follow the service at the church. Schaffer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to Cherry Street Mission in Toledo, Disabled American Veterans, or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
