Sharon K. Wilt of Defiance, OH, formally of Continental, OH, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 22, 2026. Sharon was born May 2, 1949, in Troy, Ohio to Walter "Dan" and Virginia Ball. She graduated in 1967 from The Great Miami East High School of Casstown, OH. She married her high school sweetheart Larry D. Wilt on September 16, 1967.

Sharon was a faithful servant of God and was a member of Dupont Church of the Brethren in Dupont, OH. She was a loving wife, mother, and the biggest fan of her grandchildren. She loved attending her grandchildren’s football games, cheer competitions, and horse shows. She was an animal lover, always having cats and dogs her whole life. She was a huge fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Red Legs. Spending time with her husband camping, traveling in their RV, and visiting family and friends was one of her favorite pastimes.

Sharon worked as a Nurse's aide and pharmacy tech at Stouder Memorial Hospital in Troy, OH, for many years. Then as a pharmacy tech at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, OH, and with Kroger Corporation. After moving from Tipp City, OH, to Continental, OH, in 1988, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for Dimension Cable in Defiance, OH, until retirement in 1997.

Sharon was passionate about helping families deal with the struggles of mental health. She was actively involved with NAMI Four County and brought the Family-to-Family Support Group to the Four County area. She facilitated this program for many years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Larry Wilt of Defiance, OH; her children, Sean (Faith) Wilt of Canadian, OK, and Janelle (Jason) Hoschak of Defiance, OH; her grandchildren, Jakob Hoschak, Jeremy Hoschak, Kaylynn Wilt, and Cody Spann; siblings, Bruce (Helen) Ball of Dayton, OH, and Jim (Rosemary) Ball of Leesburg, GA; brother-in-law, Bill (Linda) Wilt of Troy, OH; sister-in-law, Julia Wilt of Dublin, OH. 

She was preceded by her children, Shannon Wilt and Jerry Wilt; grandchildren, Erik Wilt and Caleb Spann; siblings, Lee Ball and brother-in-law, Mike Wilt; parents, Walter "Dan" and Virginia Ball of Tavares, FL; and in-laws, Hayes and Betty Wilt of Fletcher, OH.

Services will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2026, at the American Legion in Continental, OH. from 2:00pm to 5:00pm with a Memorial Service at 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, make a donation in Sharon Wilt’s name to your local Salvation Army or animal shelter.
