Sharon Dawn Reed, age 82 of Ney, Ohio, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022 at VanCrest of Hicksville, where she was a resident. She was born on October 15, 1939 to Paul and Theris (Arnold) Moog in Ney, Ohio. She was a graduate of Ney High School and worked at Chief Supermarket for 28 years. On October 24, 1959 she married her best friend Marvin Lee Reed, who survives. Sharon was a member of Sherwood United Brethren and Ney Church of God. She enjoyed crafting, cross stitching, macrame and crocheting. She spent many nights at "craft night" with Sandy and Berdina. Sharon loved spending time with her family, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sharon will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 62 years, Marvin, and her children; Dawn Benton of Archbold, OH, Matt (Kimberly Steffes) Reed of Edgerton, OH, and Holli (Ryan) Zeedyk of Hicksville, OH. She also leaves her grandchildren, Zachary (Lacey) Bowers of Evans, GA, Adam (Ashley Fowler) Bowers of Archbold, OH, Lyndsay (Codi Main) Bowers of Sherwood, OH, Bowen and Logan Reed of Edgerton, OH, Jessica Griggs of Waterloo, IN, Emma, Adalyn and Lilly Zeedyk of Hicksville, OH, 14 great-grandchildren, her brother, Doug (Cheryl) Moog of Mark Center, OH, and her sister, Deb (Dave) Flory of Ney, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved mother-in-law, Hilda Reed. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Due to CDC guidelines, if you are not fully vaccinated a mask is required to enter the funeral home, and our lounge area will remain closed. Burial will follow the service at Riverview Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences can be given at www.Schafferfh.com.
