Scott Dewayne Cupps, age 48 of Ney, Ohio, passed away on March 19, 2024 at ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on October 29, 1975 to Marvin and Barbara (Meiring) Cupps in Paulding, Ohio. Scott was a 1994 graduate of Fairview High School and Four County Career Center. On June 21, 2003 he married Jennifer Hahn who survives.

Scott was self-employed as a carpenter and enjoyed his career his whole life. He was a frequent shopper at Lowe's. He was an awesome handyman and could fix everything, or at least he would try. Scott was a hoarder of building materials because he "might eventually need it"....someday. He loved to spoil the dogs and just drive around the area. He will be greatly missed by his family and many great friends. Scott is survived by his loving wife Jennifer of Ney, OH, his father Marvin Cupps of Mark Center, OH,  his son Dustin Cupps of Mark Center, OH, and his daughters, Tory Cupps of Ney, OH, Tiffany Cupps of Defiance, and Emily Cupps of Cecil, OH, his granddaughter, Piper Cupps of Mark Center, OH, his brothers John Cupps of Bryan, OH and Gary (Lacy) Cupps of Angola, IN, his beloved dogs, Daisy, Buckeye and Rudy, and his grand-dogs, Bella, Bentley, Whip and Sunny. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Cupps, and grandmother, Rose Jenkins. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 2:00 - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 29, 2024 at the funeral home, with one hour of additional visitation before the service. Pastor William Moore will officiate the service. Memorials are suggested to Ft. Defiance Humane Society, or Kyzer Realty.
