Scott C. DeTray Scott C. "Boz" DeTray, 61, of Paulding, Oh passed away Monday, April 8th, 2013 at St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo. He was born in Defiance, Ohio on June 7, 1951, he was the son of the late R. Fred and Lois (Duerk) DeTray. Scott was a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church and a 1969 graduate of Defiance High School. He had worked at Tri-State Industrial Services, Anderson-Vreeland, Sears and Lowes. He was a member of the Sons of AMVETS and life member of the Defiance Fish and Game. Scott was very active with the American Red Cross. He received the Defiance County Red Cross Volunteer of the Year in 2009 and the Red Cross Director's Choice Award in 2011. He was a certified instructor for the American Red Cross and oversaw the area disaster relief. Scott also volunteered as a cook at Auglaize village and loved playing Santa Claus during the Christmas season. On Sept. 2, 1989 he married Lynette Bennett who survives. He will be greatly missed by his wife Lynette DeTray, daughter: Christina (Bryan) Briggs of Defiance, son: Scott DeTray II of Defiance, sisters: Sue DeTray of Sherwood, Holly Keeran of Sherwood, brothers: David DeTray of Galena, OH, R. Fred (Naomi) DeTray II of Defiance. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Jordan DeTray, Bailey DeTray, Kala Pierce, Brandon Briggs, Brooke Briggs and Terri "Lulu" Briggs. He was preceded in death by a brother Dennis DeTray and his parents. Religious Service at St. John Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12th, with Rev. Donald Luhring officiating. Visitation is Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance and Friday 10 -11 at St. John Lutheran Church.
