Saundra K Saxton, 71 of Defiance, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.

She was born February 25, 1942 in Fostoria, Ohio and was the daughter of John and Isla (Munn) Beeson.

Sandie is survived by her husband of 47 years Larry Saxton, her son Matt (Catherine) Saxton of Tucson, AZ, her daughter Kathy (Jamie) Roach of Wickliffe, OH, her three grandchildren; Alexandra, Ian and Brendan, two sisters-in-law Julie Beeson, Judy (Mike) Thomas all of Forstoria and a brother-in-law Mike (Barb) Saxton of Defiance.

She was a 1960 graduate of Fostoria High School and moved to Defiance with Larry in 1967. Sandie was a teacher's aid at Anthony Wayne school and for many years was the secretary in the guidance department at Defiance High School, retiring in 2002. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Red Hat society. After her retirement, she and Larry traveled in their camper. Saundra enjoyed her flower garden, reading, music & theater, but most importantly spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 2 to 8pm in the Schaffer Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 11:00AM in the funeral home with Rev. David Brobston officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Association.
