Sarabell F.Knipp, 86, of Defiance, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 17, 2018. She was born on June 5, 1931 to Howard and Mae (Durham) Hammon in Defiance. On June 5, 1949 she married L. Leroy Knipp, who preceded her in death on February 8, 2013. Sarabell was an active member of Grace Bible Church, was an organist, and sang in the senior community choir. She enjoyed high school sports, and being involved in the community. Sarabell dearly loved babysitting for her extended family. She has touched many lives, and will be truly missed by many. Sarabell is survived by her sons, David (Becky) Knipp of Davidson, NC, Tom (Beth) Knipp of Defiance, Gary Knipp of Defiance, and Jan (Roxie) Knipp of Continental, daughters, Diane (Tom) Trochim of Flat Rock, NC, and Laurie (Mark) Eitniear of Pioneer, Ohio, 23 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Ronda Talbert, brother, Delbert (The Late Helen) Hammon, sisters-in-law, Carmen Knipp, and Jackie Schalitz,  and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L. Leroy Knipp, sisters, Mavis (Vern) Skinner and Marian Hammon, brothers, Melvin  (Bettie) Hammon, Paul (Kathleen) Hammon, and Howard Hammon, Jr. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Monday, May 21, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Defiance. A Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. John McKay officiating. Burial will be private.
