Sadie  Peters, 83, of Defiance, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at the CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance, Ohio.

She was born on February 4, 1931 to Romalis and Augusta (Armes) Coleman in Grundy, Virginia. On February 14, 1959 she married Gerry "Pete" Peters, who proceeded her in death on February 12, 2003.

Sadie worked for years at Schultz Plumbing in Defiance, and was known as the "Lady Plumber". Sadie was also a custodian for the Defiance City Schools. She was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Eagles Lady Auxiliary.

Sadie is survived by her daughters, Paula (Pete) Schlosser and Kelly (Darrell) DeVelbiss, both of Defiance, grandchildren,  Katie and Billy Kissner, sisters, Lucy Looney of Abingdon, Virginia, and Mae Shortridge of Lebannon, Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Romalis and Augusta Coleman, husband, Gerry "Pete" Peters, daughter, Cindy Peters, brothers, Sherman Coleman, Alva Coleman, Howard Coleman, and Herman Coleman, sisters, Beatrice Owens, Gladys Blankenship, and infant Annie Coleman.

Visitation will be held  from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 2, 2015, with Deacon Jeff Mayer, officiating. Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
