Ryan Lee Peterson, 27, formerly of Defiance, passed away on  November 13, 2014 at his home in Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was born on October 29, 1987 to Gerald and Bonny (Ramirez)  Peterson in Toledo, OH. Ryan received his Bachelor's degree from Ball State University. He worked as a Communication Support Specialist for Homeland Security.

Ryan enjoyed competitive online Call of Duty, hockey, and racing games. He loved the Florida Gators, Indianapolis Colts, and the Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed rooting for his favorite late model race car driver Rusty Schlenk.

Ryan is survived by his brother, Gabe Peterson of Defiance, nephew, Hayden Peterson, grandmothers, Sandy Peterson of Defiance, and Anna Velasquez of Puerto Rico, uncles, Jeff  and John Peterson, Sammy, David, Tony, and Robert, and his best friends, Ben (Kelsey) Herman of Napoleon, Nick Bishop of Defiance, and James Rodriguez of Defiance.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Bonny, aunt, Jennifer Peterson, grandmother, Louise Velasquez, and grandfather, Gerald Lee Peterson, Sr..

Visitation will be held Monday, November 17, 2014, from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the funeral  home with Pastor Vince Cantu officiating.
