RUTH E. SCHLEGEL Ruth E. Schlegel, 93, Defiance, died Aug. 5, 2009 at Mercy Hospital of Defiance. She was born October 10, 1915 in Defiance to the late Martin and Nina (Hahn) Snyder. Surviving are two daughters Jane Schlegel of Defiance and Barbara (Kendol) Engel of West Palm Beach, Fl. Three sons, John (Edna) Schlegel of Auburn, In. David of Wapakoneta, Oh. and Samuel (Patricia) Schlegel of Philadelphia, Pa. one brother Wayne Snyder of Bradenton, Fl. Four sister in laws Josephine Leach of Defiance, Verna Snyder of Whitehouse, Tenn. Phyllis A. and Phyllis J. Snyder both of Defiance. 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul J. Schlegel, a daughter in law Roxie Schlegel, three brothers Floyd (Bud), Vern (Pickle) and Richard Snyder. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. There is no visitation. Suggested memorials are to St. John Catholic Church.
